Occupation:  Teacher, hopeful/occasional Artist
Height:  5'5"
Weight:  120
Birthplace:  Cambridge, Ontario
Date of birth:  06/23/80

Shoes I run in:  Saucony Grid Hurricane 7's and Saucony Shadow Trails
Favourite running surface:  Through crowded malls in zebra spandex
Some events I have completed: Most of the 25ks in the OUSeries, as well as the Run for the Toad and Paradise Lake trail races.
Best performances: 2003 4x800m relay while running for York U (bronze at the Ontario Champs), OTFA Junior Gold medal at 2000m steeple chase 1999, 2002 Run for the Toad 25k - overall female win in my first 25k.
Running achievements:  See above and also getting married last year in running shoes.
Event I would like to do but haven't yet: Haliburton, and I want to try an Ultra.
Typical training week:  Two Harriers practices, One long run with mandatory coffee after at Melville Cafe, two easy runs with Oscar (the marathon mutt), and maybe some road cycling.
Injury history:  Lots -stress fractures, hip problems, but none recently...woo hoo.
Favourite ultra/trail foods:  Expresso flavoured Hammer Gel.
Favourite ultra/trail beverages: Sporty-drinks and water during, beer after.
Things I like most about ultras/trails:  Using my legs as a dirt-toboggan on downhills, and the
rush when crossing the finish line...gotta love runner's high.
Things I hate most about ultras/trails:
The fear of being hunted by really bad hunters (that's why I never wear my zebra spandex while running in the woods).
What got me started doing ultras:  George & Peggy Sarson and Don McFarlane when they were planning the first Run for the Toad in 2002.  They encouraged me to give it a try. Being from a
mostly track and road-racing background, I didn't think I could run 25k. I did it, and I was hooked! A big thanks to them.
Ultra heroes:  There are so many really friendly and supportive people involved in trail and ultra running. I keep meeting more and more. My trail running posse (Greg, George, Howie, Rob, James and the Sarge) are also my heroes in man-spandex.
Ultra quote: Pile on the Miles!
