Best performances: JFK 50 miler, my first "real" ultra. Run for the Toad through sun, freezing rain and snow all in one race. Ultra achievements: Completed every race that I have entered and my very first ride in an ambulance. Ultra I would like to do but haven't yet: Western States, need I say more? Typical training week: 80 - 100K Injury history: Sciatic nerve, inflamed tendon and rough looking toes. Favourite ultra foods: Bananas, peanut butter and jam on whole wheat, boiled potatoes rolled in salt, Cliff shot gels any flavour. Favourite ultra beverages: E-load, orange juice mixed with water, Gatorade. Things I like most about ultras: There's a surprise around every corner, the trance and the people (especially the Straw Man). Things I hate most about ultras: Damn roots, just look at my knees. What got me started doing ultras: Seriously? I thought that running hilly 50Ks would improve my marathon time. But really, why run 100K? Because it's there and I can..... Ultra heroes: Scott, Ryne, Monica, Joe, Laurie, Jen, Wendy, Clara Ultra quote: Running once a day just isn't enough.
