Occupation: Team Leader / Member Services Representative at Kitchener-Waterloo YMCA
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 148
Birthplace: Kitchener, Ontario
Date of birth: 05/30/84
Years running:  5+
Years running ultras: 3
Shoes I wear: New Balance 765, Saucony Trigon
Favourite Running Surface: Trail (unpaved!!)
PRs: 24 hour - 167 km, 100 km - 10:45:30, 50 mile - 9:05:03, 50 km - 4:22:45, marathon - 3:44:37.
Some ultras I have completed: Most of the Ontario Ultra Series, Buffalo 6 hour, JFK 50 Miler.
Best Performances: 2003 Sri Chinmoy International 24 hour Race: Placed 1st female, 2nd overall with 167 km on a stinkin' little 400m track...thus completing my first 100 miles. 2003 Niagara 100km race: Placed first overall in 10:45:30 on my least favourite terrain (pavement).
Ultra Achievement: My very first Ultra race when I was 16 in 2001 at the Buffalo 6 hour: I completed about 55 km.
Typical training week: In season training consists of 30-60 miles/week, strength training 1-4x/week, 3-4 hours of "quality" stretching/week, total cycling 30-90 minutes/week, Stairmaster or cross-trainer 45-60 minutes/week, swimming 30-60 minutes/week. Off season training consists of about half of the above & chocolate.
Injury history:
Plenty of inflammation in and around the ankles, knees, hips and brain. Shoulder surgery in 2003 was a frustrating interruption in my running schedule.
Favourite ultra foods: Rice Krispie Squares, Dieter Scholz's peanut butter and jam sandwiches (extra jam!), Cliff gels and plain potato chips.
Favourite ultra beverages: Blue Gatorade, E-load.
Things I like most about ultras: The suspense that comes with searching for the finish line on a trail run, the testing of personal will to KEEP searching for the finish line, and the people I meet who help me MAKE it to the finish line.
Things I hate most about ultras: Pavement segments within a trail race! (It interrupts my runner's high!)
What got me started on ultras:
Ultras I would like to do: Anything overseas.
Ultra Heroes: Monica Scholz, Karin Duyn, Patricia Sommers, Odino Soligo, anybody who has experienced the pain of a difficult race and still continued their running career!
Favourite ultra quotes: "You look good", "Lookin' strong", "Don't stop".  All three are commonly shouted at me when I feel (and look) like crap! Thanks everybody!
