OUSer Bio:
Brian Hutson

Location:  Ancaster, Ontario
E-mail:
Occupation: money (financial advisor)
Height: 182cm
Weight: 145lb
Birthplace:  was hatched on Mars
Date of birth: don't know, wasn't there when it happened
Years running: 30
Years running ultras: .01
PRs: Every PB was done during training, never in a race.
Shoes I run in: my own, other people's just don't fit quite right
Favourite running surface: ground - it's that gravity thing
Some events I have completed:  Iroquoia in '02, Ganaraska in '03, Arctic 100 miler in '05
Best performances: Was the willow tree in the grade 4 play. Got rave reviews for that one.
Ultra achievements: Remembering to bring enough cash to be able to enter the race.
Ultra I would like to do but haven't yet: Two Oceans - South Africa
Typical training week: change, warm up, work out, stretch, shower, get dressed. Repeat several times.
Injury history: Ruptured Achillies '98, torn Peroneus tendon '01/'02, torn & stretched foot ligaments '85, Bruised ego '80-'03
Favourite ultra foods: whatever is available at the next aid station
Favourite ultra beverages: see above
Things I like most about ultras: they seem to be easier than a 50km racewalk
Things I hate most about ultras:
not by much
What got me started doing ultras: the starter's pistol
Ultra heroes:
Ultra quote: "You shouldn't run in the heat, your heart will stop." - my mother the day after completing the Iroquois Trail Test in '02 through the oppressive heat. Folks, you just can't make up material like that.
Other comments: Any race that has aid stations with cookies, candy, peanuts, coke and junk food in general is the kinda race for me.
