PBs:  In the 50+ age category:
5km 17.05, 8km 27.46, 10km 34.29, 15km 55.24, 1/2 Marathon 1.18.41, Marathon 2.50.37, 50km 3.48.42
Best Performances:  Wiarton 50k in 2001, and as a cyclist breaking the hour (25 mile time trial) as a 15 year old.
Running achievements I am most proud of:  Owen Sound 2003 and finishing Creemore 2007
Event I would like to do:  Toronto Ultra
Typical training week:  50 to 60km - varying distances with two days off
Injury history:  Born with spina bifida, bone fragments in neck and skull fracture (diving), complete tear of quad muscle (cycling), illiosoas tear, usual / normal running injuries, and a heart attack in 2003 .
Favourite event foods:  None, but pizza afterwards
Favourite event beverages:  Water
Things I like most about trail runs:  Smooth flat trails
Things I hate most about trail running:  Rocks, stumps, and poor course marking
What got me started doing ultra runs:  Cycling is too dangerous. Most drivers don't respect cyclists, and trees hurt more at speed .

heroes:  Lance Armstrong, Paula Radcliffe, and my friend Pierre Marcoux
Favourite running quote:  "That was fun" - Pierre Marcoux after literally running a mile down the centre of the Mad River.  Aptly named !!!
Other comments:  All things considered Ultras are great fun. They should be an Olympic event.
