Things I like most about ultras:
The people. There is always so much encouragement. Also, the benefits that come from working to achieve a goal and then doing it.
Things I hate most about ultras:
Nothing.
What got me started doing ultras:
My running partner Bob Lance, after completing his first marathon suggested we try a 50k at Haliburton. We were hooked.
Ultra hero:
Terry Fox. He was never officially an "ultra marathonner", but his courage in the face of his illness is something I will always remember. My aches and pains are nothing in comparison.
Favourite Ultra Quote:
I like the Nike quote. "Just do it" What else can one say?
Other Comments: Since taking up ultra running I have learned a lot about myself. The amazing thing is that I have not yet reached the limit of my endurance.  I wonder what it will feel like?  Maybe this year.
