Best performances: Most happened in the early 90s. Then I got serious about beer and really became an ultrarunner. Non ultra I think Around the Bay 30k in 1:58:24 and ultra wise I hope it is yet to come =:0. Ultra achievements: Being on the Canadian 100K team to represent Canada. Ultra I would like to do but haven't yet: To many to list. I am even starting to think about multi day stuff - Frightening! Typical training week: Monday to Friday - noon about 5 miles try to get 2 of those as harder workouts - intervals or tempo run. Saturday - trails for 1 to 3 hrs. Sunday - roads 15 to 25+ miles. Averages out to about 50 miles a week as something always comes up and you miss a day. I don't plan a day off. Injury history: Not many. Plantar and a few breaks from falling on the trails. Sciatic nerve when I don't behave. Favourite ultra foods: Greasy stuff later in the race. Favourite ultra beverages: I drink most of it in the race and hate it all at the end of the race (except the beer). Things I like most about ultras: The different settings, trails, friendly people. The politics. Things I hate most about ultras: The big hills. The politics. What got me started doing ultras: The "alumni" and others of the Burlington Runners Club. Dave Mccaldon and I thought if they could do this so could we. Ultra heroes: Ultra quote: May 2003 |
